Lt. George Ewing Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution meeting on 23 May 2019. Steve Hinson, Ohio Society president, gave a talk and presented a Distinguished Chapter Award to our chapter and a Medal of Appreciation to Charlotte Benz. The meeting was held at the old Chester Courthouse and Academy in Chester, Ohio.
A grave marking conducted by the Lt. George Ewing SAR chapter, the Marietta SAR chapter, and the Nabby Le Ames DAR chapter on 20 Jun 2015. This marking was done at Cowdery Cemetery in Chester Township of Meigs County, Ohio.
This meeting was setup by Scott Moody, and was attended by 35 people. Professor Sarah Kinkle of the Ohio University History Department gave a talk about the "ten talents" John Adams attributed, somewhat sarcastically and condescendingly, to Washington.
Noah Close receives scout award from Lt. George Ewing chapter, at a meeting that also featured a talk by Ohio University history professor, Brian Schoen.
This is an annual meeting held every December. The speaker this year was Hershel W. Williams, U.S. Marine Corps, who received the Medal of Honor for his actions "above and beyond the call of duty" in the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II.
Held at the Parkersburg, W.Va., Country Club. Attendees included members of the Blennerhassett Chapter, James Wood Chapter, and the Marietta Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, as well as members of several local SAR chapters.
